Marrying a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Over the years I listened to many that experienced this and how easy it is to be conned. They were all born in Philippines. I just got back from combat ,2years of it.

We plan to get married in October, I have a visitors Canadian visa. I am going to suggest that you contact us to make an appointment to talk with one of our immigration professionals who will be able to plan the best strategy for you and your boyfriend after we find out more about his current situation. Hiring an immigration lawyer will help you get answers to all of your questions, plus it will increase the chance of getting a visa approved. Is this the type of contract marriage you are talking about?

Yes, if this was repealed then a flood of temporary marriages would occur while people bring their new citizen hunnies, male or female, into any of the countries of interest. I fail to see why this is a bad thing though. In the US especially we have so many flat out illegal immigrants without even a very tenuous tie to any kind of legal reason to be here such as a contracted civil union marriage without the ceremony and religion involved. They just wander in and get healthcare, food stamps.. It's hard to be an illegal immigrant in america.. As to whether i'd undergo a contract marriage? However, i'd require an ironclad pre-nup.. They would have to work hard to study and learn about america and its history. They would also not be allowed to 'date outside of the marriage' until we are ready to get officially divorced. We'd have to act like a married couple. As such any outside dating shenanigans are grounds for immediate divorce and a break of the pre-nup. I am a libertarian by nature and I choose to state that I disagree with flagrantly discriminatory immigration practices. If marriage for citizenship became legal with a period of three years as a minimum time period for the marriage to remain in tact with cohabitation as a mandatory restriction as well as citizenship tests for naturalization then it should be fine to me. Basically instead of coming here for a job, they are coming here as a personal dependant. As such the husband or wife they married is responsible for their well being, healthcare, etc. If two people want to enter into a marriage contract then by all mans go ahead. Any hot sexy foreign women want to come love me long time? At least a few years worth? Would I do it JUST for money? Nope, not a chance. Immigration officials aren't slouches, and there are also interviews required. So, the couple better be damned familiar with each other, not just doing a sham marriage, in order to get a favourable decision based on those interviews. We live in countries where our rights are heard, food is plenty and freedom is our God given right... Imagine you didn't have all this, wouldn't you do everthing in your power to make sure you had it all? I know I would. They can be very manipulative. My ex husband did it... He is totally embarrassed about it... Some of them can be very savvy and clever... Then they bring the rest of the family... People who are lonely tend to fall for it hoping to be happy but it rarely works. You can spot these types of people and most are from poverty stricken countries. This is onetime you STOP yourself from caring because that is how they get to you. They make you feel sad by hearing their stories and you want to do the right thing but not always good. Over the years I listened to many that experienced this and how easy it is to be conned. Marriage for citizenship in Australia is a crime. You have to be a good liar to get away with it. On fish you would find heaps of students studying in your country looking for love or marriage and they are usually young. They would say everything you want to hear and if you are smart you know they are not genuine. Different if they are looking for friendship.... I usually tell 'em to F off... You have to cut the bs or you become a victim for caring for another. Some are pretentious where they make the man feel they are in love... If you are not careful you could be accused of abuse so it appears legitimate and they can take everything you own. So why would anyone invest in anything like this. It is a 10years jail time in Australia and a hefty fine. You know given the situation of some of these imigrants I really don't blame them. We live in countries where our rights are heard, food is plenty and freedom is our God given right... Imagine you didn't have all this, wouldn't you do everthing in your power to make sure you had it all? I know I would. You know, I hate to say it, Arabian Angel but... I highly believe that, in order for change to happen? The people of any said country have to want it enough to fight for it. Problems start at home, and should be dealt with there, IMO. But, I am also biased. Speaking as someone who DID immigrate, and did so legally, and through all the proper channels to do so? I went through the immigration process, moving from Canada to the US. I went through all the proper channels, dotted all my i's and crossed all my t's. I pay my taxes, I pay into medicaid, medicare, Social Security, the whole nine yards now in the US. Which I have no problem with. What I DO have a problem with? Is, anyone who sneaks in illegally, drops out a baby and automatically gets granted free healthcare, and gov't dollars? I'm not seeking it, but, as a LEGAL immigrant? I pay into all those things, but I cannot collect from them for 10 years minimum. Which, to me, is more than fair. Nobody wants people moving to their country and living off their tax dollars for a free ride, so I understand that. I'm more than okay with that. But it DOES pyss me off that, illegals can have more rights than I do now, even though I'm a legal resident of a new country, but they get those benefits immediately just because what, they snuck in and popped out a baby as an easy way in? It makes a mockery of everyone who tries to do things legitimately and legally, IMO. Oddly in my life I have been offered a couple that on paper sounded great by the end of a contract there would be a college degree and a house in my name minimum , but ultimately I didn't accept either. Not my style, not what would be good for me in the end. Yea, sounds like a tall tale, but a few dollars spent on a good immigration lawyer to check facts was worth it how I found out the papers were forged. And the marriage proposal came 2 yrs into dating, not 2 months. Too use underhanded methods, or to move with no intent to contribute to a society makes you a leech. You are looking for new ways to be lazy with better surroundings. And looking ofr ways to immigrate to a new country illegaly without consequences is a trait of laziness-less paperwork. And there is far less paperwork for marriage than for immigration thru legal channels. I saw a case on court TV where a woman on a visa wanted a female friend to marry her Brazilian boyfriend, so he could stay here. I get the plot. They said it's a federal offense punishable with hefty fines. They were angry cause I refused. He did not speak any English. How could we communicate? Good job folks, sell off your teenage daughter! We're in a society where it's anything for money. And this is the one thing that is constant, most of the ones that did it to help someone, ended up with awesome relationships lasting years, and having children. The ones that did it for money, not a single one lasted. If there was a woman willing to pay me for marriage to come here I would certainly help and except the cash. It kills me that some americans forget how they or their family was once from another country and made it here by whatever means. So if there is a woman that wants to pay me for marriage contact me. That was a point of entry, so what? You couldn't come through Ellis Island without permission or if you were ill. In fact all four of my grandparents came from Eastern Europe and lived in NYC but 3 of the 4 came from huge families and half of them were turned away at Ellis Island and settled in South America. When I was little I had many cousins in Argentina, Ecuador, and Uruguay which is one of the reasons my Spanish is fluent. It was very difficult to come here back then just like today. Do some research before spouting bullshit. Often there is a cash payment involved. I believe the immigration officals ask rather difficult questions to determine if it is a real marriage, So if you aren't actually living together in that way, you won't know the answers. Im all for it and there is also a chance a wonderful love can be cultivated wich is always a good thing. How selfish can you be. That isnt very american at all. I served my country 16 years in the army ,and 2 years combat time... Just rethink what you wrote and search your heart. Ide marry you for money to help you as well to get here as long as i was confident that you wanted to work and better yourself wich betters all of us in the end. In the end there really is no boarders but rather we are one and we need to lift each other up. I just got back from combat ,2years of it. I know how good i have it here. Ill pray for you my sister in christ.
